Oh my it's Tuesday already! It has been a busy week of traveling, Albert's off for spring break, and I don't have much for Tiny Talk Tuesday....but here goes.
Audrey is the talker in this house. She is 3 1/2 and has much to say.
Audrey: Mommy, there's a stop sign!
Me: Yes, that's right.
Audrey: But....where is the Go sign?

Our friends' dog passed away this past fall, and we haven't seen them since.
Audrey: Is Shadow (the dog) in heaven?
Me: Yes
Audrey: Is he going to come back when God comes back?

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in this house. She's three and has much to say.
Audrey: Mommy, we don't eat fish.
Me: Yes, we do.
Audrey: Oh yeah! But we eat food fish, not water fish
Me: Uh-huh
(I won't touch this one, she loves fish, I'd like to keep it that way) _____________________________________________
While I was praying, Audrey was talking...
Me: Audrey, you don't talk when we pray.
Audrey: But I was just saying there's only ONE true God. _____________________________________________
Me: Audrey, will you help me cook?
Audrey: Yeah, I'll do the eating part!
(not quite what I was thinking, but glad she's a willing participant) ____________________________________________
After praying during lunch...
Audrey: Mommy, you forgot to pray for God.
Me: You don't pray FOR God, you pray TO Him.
Audrey: But you have to pray that he doesn't die, and that he doesn't get a crown of thorns on his head.
(I love her precious heart. Yet, I'm so thankful he DID die!)

Facing the sun with her eyes closed...
Me: Audrey, what are you doing?
Audrey: I'm letting the sun see my eyebrows.
____________________________________________
Audrey: Mommy! Look at my eyes!
Me: What's wrong?
Audrey: They are SOOOOOO tired!

Looking DOWN into a mirror...
Albert: (looking down at her) What are you looking at?
Audrey: I'm looking at the UP.

Baby Food
Oh, yet another reminder that my little boy is growing up. I made my own baby food for Audrey, and I'm here again making baby food. Considering I am NOT a cook (but would love to learn) I get such joy making the food. It's fun picking out the food at market, setting a day aside, getting Audrey into it, and baking or steaming the food to then be able to puree into a nice soft texture for my little baby to eat.
With Audrey, I would make 1 batch of 1 type of food, so the poor girl had to eat sweet potatoes until she was orange, or peas until she was green. This time around I started with the variety. Audrey and I jumped in and made yellow squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, and apples.
I'm excited for the spring and summer months ahead as we enter into the yummy fresh veggie and fruit seasons. Living in Amish Country, we are so blessed to have so much "homegrown" varieties right at our fingertips, and it's a great way to introduce foods. Although I don't like the "inconveniences" this stage brings (another thing to plan into the day, and pack if we're headed out), I love having the opportunity to play in the kitchen making and freezing all these foods.
Now.....will he be a good eater? So far he's liking his newly introduced oatmeal, we'll see about this other stuff.

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in this house, from the time she wakes up to the time she goes down. She's 3, and has much to say.
Reading a book to a friend...
Audrey: Can you find a duck on this page?
J: There (pointing to an imaginary duck)
Audrey: Stupendous!
(where does she get this stuff?? She makes life so funny!)
____________________________________________
Introductions to anyone...
Audrey: What color is your house? (weird question when meeting someone..but at 3 we let it slide)
Friend: (names the color of their house then...) What color is YOUR house?
Audrey: (confidently) VERY white
(actually it's tan, so if she thought it was white it would be quite dirty.)

And introducing...
my little man, who does NOT want to be out done by his older sister.

Planets
Audrey is into planets, she loves them. She is also into Lit.tle Ein.stein. So, it's great that the two can go hand-in-hand. In her playtime on the computer she started printing out random pictures on lit.tle Ein.stein site to color. Albert realized it was not just the characters but all the planets as well, and a step-by-step project to make a mobile. OH the fun! I wish I wasn't so knee deep in other projects around the house, otherwise I might have had the notion to pick up the camera and take pictures of them making the project, but none-the-less I have pictures of the completed project hung in her room.

What will be next?

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in this house, from the time she wakes up to the time she goes down. She's 3, and has much to say.
Audrey: I have to go pot*ty in the bathroom, because I actually don't want to go po*opy on the carpet.
(good point!)
___________________________________________________
In the car...
Me: Audrey, is Liam falling asleep?
Audrey: No, he's just falling.
___________________________________________________
Audrey: Mommy, how old are you?
Me: I just celebrated my half birthday too. I'm 30 and a 1/2
Audrey (GASPS with excitement) You're old enough to drink beer!!
(Why is this so exciting?)
___________________________________________________
Audrey's word: offer
Translation: something that takes something OFF.
She addes an 'er' to any word to make it a noun. Makes sense, right?

6 Months

Liam,
You are a wonderful addition to this family. You bring a smile to all of our faces, and we love how easy going you are. We love that you have a sense of humor, even when you're laughing at your sister hysterically crying (we know she won't like it when she realizes what's going on, but for now it provides much needed comic relief). You could be crying one moment, and the very next giving huge smiles and even some giggles. It doesn't take much to get that smile.
You are sleeping less during the day, finally getting closer to those scheduled 2 naps a day. You once despised your car seat, but now it's a cozy place for a cat nap when we're on the go. You are getting familiar with the way your body moves. Early this month you rolled over for the first time from belly to back. Just this week you began moving your body a little more to get to the side from your back. Little by little you're getting it. It's hard to imagine you'll be mobile soon, but it's just around the corner.
You are such a joy, my little giggler, snuggler, chatty, happy boy! It's hard to believe half a year has past already, yet I can hardly remember life without you. Happy half-birthday my little buddy.
Love,
Mommy
