Tiny Talk Tuesday

Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.

Walking with Daddy to the park...
Daddy: Maybe later we can take Bandit to the Dog Park.
Audrey: But I don't know what time it is...
Audrey: (looking at her wrist...pause...)....but I don't even have a watch.
_______________________________________________________
Audrey is very oral, at times we have caught her putting Liam's hand in her mouth (gross), this is an issue we have continually been working on...
Me: (obviously upset) Audrey, did you put your mouth on Liam?
Audrey: God ALWAYS forgives us.

Wordless Week: "Stuffed Animal Houses"

She was playing so quietly, so I had to see what she was up too...
"Mommy, I made stuffed animal houses."

Enjoying her first Mike & Ikes...
Audrey: Can I have a LOT?!?! Like ONE or TWO?
______________________________________________
More Mike & Ikes...
Audrey: What do they taste like?
Me: They are all different. What does yours taste like?
Audrey: It tastes like me!
Me: Well, what do you taste like?
Audrey: Mud!!!
______________________________________________
Me: Do you want to go in Daddy's car?
Audrey: No, I want to go with you.
Me: Don't you get bored of my car?
Audrey: No, I get bored of Daddy's car.

Head over to Mary's for more Tiny Talkers.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.

Audrey: After Liam turns 3 1/2 he'll be 4-30 (said 'four thirty').
____________________________________________________________
Audrey and I were chasing after a balloon...
Audrey: (running after the balloon) Who's going to catch it nexterly?
(I was trying to figure out what she really meant. Next? Faster? Actually?)
___________________________________________________________
Audrey: Guess what your surprise is Daddy?!?!
Daddy: What?
Audrey: You're going to take me to Disney (said - 'DisAney') World!
(Wow...that really is a surprise!)
___________________________________________________________
Making me a "special" Mommy's Day card...
Audrey: I'm making you a special surprise. Like Liam!
(He's sure is special, but I'm certain he wasn't a surprise)
(it was a beautifully colored butterfly)

___________________________________________________________
Talking about the above Butterfly...
Me: What color did you make it?
Audrey: It's like a Margo butterfly (she means Monarch)
Me: And what color are they?
Audrey: Orange, Black, and Splendid!

Thanks

I love my kids, and I love my husband. I had a wonderful Mother's day with my family. It was such a joy to wake up with my hubby making breakfast for me, and lots of special hugs and kisses.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.

Hearing barking from our neighbor's dog...
Audrey: Who is that?
Me: That's Mr. Chip's dog.
Audrey: Oh yes, his name is Buvie.
Me: No, his name is Bentley.
Audrey: But, we call him Buvie.
(Is that right?)
_____________________________________________
Addie (the dog) was whining at the door...
Audrey: Addie stop it! I am so disappointed.
_____________________________________________
Back to the "Lion's Den"...
Audrey: If a mean person comes and throws me into the lion's den, that would not be nice.
Me: No, if someone isn't nice to you, what should you do?
Audrey: If they try to put me in the lions den, I will PUSH them!
Me: No, that wouldn't be nice either. Do you think it's nice to do something mean back to someone who is being mean to you?
Audrey: No, I'll say, 'That's not nice', then I will put them in the lion's den.

Eight Months

Oh the joy of this age! The movements have begun. Although we haven't started the crawl, Liam has certainly begun to understand that he can move. He pushes himself up, doing half push ups, then maneuvers himself around in circles or pushes himself backwards. Once he gets those little legs working with his upper body he'll be all over the place.

He loves to play games, laugh, wrestle with Daddy, and bang everything in sight (we already have the singer, why not add a drummer). He has gotten quite good at using his "grabnabbers" (thanks Lit.tle Eins.tein). He'll grab anything in sight that doesn't belong to him...most often grabbing his sister's hair.

With two more teeth making their appearance (now a total of four), we're excited to see our happy, content buddy return to himself.

He's doing really well with eating. He likes the veggies I've made thus far, and the fruit (pears and apples are ok, preferring them warm NOT cold). I made mango freeze pops the other night, once he got over the cold factor he seemed to like them (as seen by the picture above).

Of course, he continues to be a wonderful addition and blessing to our family. We are so thankful for both our children's very different personalities.

Sweet Surprises

I don't often go to thrift stores, for two reasons. One being that I'm just not patient enough. You really have to spend time there to find something good and worth while. The 2nd reason is because you have to spend time there to find something good and worth while....not gonna happen with kids.

BUT...there's nothing like finding a treasure buried deep among the rubish.

So, last night in a moment to myself, I thought I'd give it a try. I had the time, I had no children with me, and I was willing to be patient. I am glad I was because....... I was able to find a cute cashmere sweater, soft yellow, and my size...for the glorious grand total of .................75 CENTS!! Now that's WORTHWHILE!
