Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.
Audrey: Mommy, let's not talk about my flowers (flowers she made with cupcake paper and sequins).
Audrey: Mommy, what's sequins?
Me: Like the sequins on your flowers?
Audrey: I SAID we are NOT talking about my flowers.
Audrey: Let's try that again. What is sequins?

After moving around the living room furniture during nap time...
Audrey: MOMMY!! Did you move all this by yourself?
Me: Yes
Audrey: (giving me a thumbs up, and then a BIG hug) You did a GREAT job! I'm so proud of you!
(guess she thought I didn't have it in me)

Daddy: Do you want milk to drink?
Audrey: Yeah!
Daddy: (pulls out the milk)
Audrey: Oh, there's not much left, I don't think that's a good idea.

Audrey: Mommy, does Grandma Jean live far away?
Me: Yes, she lives farther than Grandpa.
Audrey: That's VERY far away. Does she live on Earth?

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.
Playing with her very good friend, H (a boy, mind you).
Audrey: H, you can be Cinderella and I will be the mean step-mother.
H: (giggle, giggle) okay
Audrey: SWEEP the floor, then go to your room and PLAY!
______________________________________________
Me: Who's your prince?
Audrey: Daddy is (awww)
Me: But, Daddy's my prince.
Audrey: Oh, okay then Liam will be my prince.
______________________________________________
We've been talking about things that are appropriate and not appropriate to talk about outside of our family (ex. po.tty talk)
Audrey: If someone talks po.tty talk to me, that would not be nice.
Me: No, it's not nice.
Audrey: Yeah, it's rude and then they will throw me into the lion's den.
(uh....how did we mix that up??)
______________________________________________
I was waiting in line to pay a bill at the local treasury office, so Audrey decided to sit next to another girl waiting for her mom (she was probably 10 - 11 yrs old). This is the conversation I overheard.
Audrey: Hi what's your name (she says this to EVERYONE she passes)?
Girl: My name is ----------- . What's your name?
Audrey: Audrey
Girl: That's a very pretty name.
Audrey: Yes it is! (don't you love the confidence)
Audrey: Where's your Daddy?
Girl: He's at work.
Audrey: My Daddy's at work too.
Audrey: What's his name?
Girl: His name is ----------- .
Audrey: Oh. Do you go to school?
Girl: Yes, do you?
Audrey: No, I don't go to school I have to be TALLER (as she stands up to show how tall she has to be).
Girl: How old are you?
Audrey: I'm THREE and a half!
Girl: How old is your little brother?
Audrey: He's 7 months. (wow...she knows that??!?!)
Conversation continues for quite some time while I remained in line, and then as I was being helped. So funny to hear her strike up and CONTINUE conversations with complete strangers. She loves to meet and talk to new people, and drill them about everything!

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 1/2 and has much to say.
While roll playing "cinderella". She was the "good stepmother" (aka the fairy godmother)....
Audrey: I have a surprise for you!!
Me: What is it??
Audrey: (pretends to unwrap a present) It's a COACH!
Audrey: but wait, I have something to go with it (proceeds to unwrap another small gift).
Audrey: Look I have straps, let me put it in the coach for you.
(so even in pretend play we have to have "car seat straps". I guess you can never be too safe)
______________________________________________
Audrey: Mommy, is that Liam's high chair? Me: Yes
Audrey: (pointing to her booster seat) Is that a low chair? ______________________________________________
While reading with Daddy...
Daddy: "...and off they went to find shelter..."
Audrey: Who's shelter?
______________________________________________
Me: AUDREY! Turn OFF the water!! (she was trying to wet the baby wipe...hello, they are already wet...)
Audrey: Oh (sighs, as she slouches her shoulders) I give up! ______________________________________________

All for the Braids
Audrey has been growing her hair out this winter. It's a slow go, but her motivation....braids. I recently cut my hair, 8 inches off, but prior to doing so I would occasionally wear my hair in two braids. I did this over the summer, and Audrey loved it. She would play with my hair, and continually ask if I could put her hair in braids. After my hair cut, she then was obsessed again but this time with the fact that I could no longer put my hair in braids. I told her we might be able to put hers in braids, so I'd give it a try. She's a wiggler, so it's a bit hard to get it in, but it worked, and she was a happy, happy girl!

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in the house. She's 3 /12 and has much to say.
Audrey: Mommy, which do you like better?
Audrey: Macaroni and cheese or Manure?
Me: Depends on the need (gardening or eating).
_______________________________________
Audrey: Bandit is sad.
Me: Why?
Audrey: Because he has never been to church.
(of course!)

Audrey picked up a flower on the sidewalk (that fell from a tree...she didn't pick it).
Audrey: Mommy, when we get home I'm going to let the sun see the flower.
Me: Uh-huh (not really understanding what she meant)
Audrey: (later when we were home) Oh! My flower I need to take it outside.
She runs outside with the flower. Out of curiosity I go see what she's doing. There she is standing facing the sun, holding the flower towards it. Running inside...
Audrey: (puts the flower on the table) There, now the flower won't die, it got plenty of sun!
(guess I forgot to tell her it needs to be in the ground and get plenty of water too)

Pulling into McD's for a po.tty break...
Audrey: Moooommmmmyyyyy (the dreaded whine tone)??
Audrey: Are we hungry??
(I can't speak for you, honey)
_______________________________________
Talking about Liam's two teeth, and two more coming in...
Me: How many teeth do you have, Audrey?
Audrey: I don't know.
later...
Audrey: You know what!?! (chuckle, chuckle) I have ONE HUNDRED teeth!!

As Albert and I were discussing Pan.era as a dinner option...
Audrey: I only want applesauce, mac n' cheese, and pizza.
Me: Pan.era doesn't have that.
Audrey: I don't want Pan.era.
(the girl knows what she wants)

7 Months

Oh the fun of this past month! Liam is now rolling in both directions, sitting up unsupported, he began eating solid food, and he's SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! Oh, let me say that again...He's SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!! I am so proud, and feeling so refreshed....I'm a new Momma!! He's chatting more and more, especially interacting with Audrey. He loves his big sister. She loves the audience. I love how they are beginning to interact with each other. This included the first "hair pulling" incident. "MOOOOMMM!!!! Liam just pulled my hair!" (as she was leaning over so he could grab it). He gets so excited to see her and his Daddy. Now that we've entered the "distracted when eating" phase I have to ask both Albert and Audrey to often leave the room, when I'm feeding him.
He doesn't seem too eager to be mobile, which makes me very happy. He loves to sit and watch, or grab the closest toy/object to taste. He continues to be full of smiles and laughter.

Tiny Talk Tuesday
Audrey is the talker in this house. She is 3 1/2 and has much to say.
Audrey: Daddy, maybe after dinner we could make a list and go to the big numbers store (the grocery store).
________________________________________
Audrey: Noah is going to take us somewhere. Would that be exciting?
Me: How is he going to take us? In a plane? (I was looking for her to say "in the ark")
Audrey: Yeah, God's going to give him a plane and he's going to take us somewhere.
________________________________________
Audrey: A good guy ALWAYS does something good!
________________________________________
Audrey: Maybe we should color Bandit (the dog) green.
Daddy: With what?
Audrey: With a crayon, wouldn't that be funny! (burst out in laughter)
Me: Yeah, maybe we could make him purple too.
Audrey: Yeah, and make Addie (the other dog) black! (excitement and more laughter)
Me: But Addie is already black.
Audrey: (Loud Laughter)
(at this point, she had us all laughing)
