In the little moments

It continued to rain, and we loved it! There have been a few dry spells this month, and we have taken full advantage of that.

I took the following picture, but editing rights go to my husband.

I love when I am able to capture my children, or anyone for that matter, in their moment.

Liam: he loves a fun playground.
Isabel: The wonder of it all.

Audrey: Making up a song, and singing it on the highest peak.

Rain, Rain

We had an amazing down pour on Monday afternoon. The kids have been begging for it to rain ever since.

Snow Day

One of those days when we have nothing planned. The kind of days I love.
Isabel isn't crawling, yet, but that doesn't stop her.
Audrey tickling Isabel.

Oh the anticipation...

Thousand Words

Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but there are some things that are not captured in those 1000 words.

Liam, he is a ham. He loves to pretend. I can get pictures of him playing on the floor with his trains, cars, or action figures. That would tell a piece of the story, but not all. He loves to run. Now this is a bit more tricky with photography. How to I capture him running, what it looks like and sounds like it one picture? I can't....yes, I've tried.

I used to be much better about keeping a journal for my kids, I'm horrible at it now. Not because I don't have the time, though that is a factor. Not because I forget or notice, though that too is a factor. It's really because I take so many pictures, and pictures do tell much of a story. Now with digital, they even tell time and date.

Liam has this thing with running. He loves it, he runs everywhere...even in small spaces, around in circles. At night he often has this routine of making an obstacle course for himself involving pillows, stools, chairs, couches, whatever. He then 'starts his motor'. He becomes a car. He'll make a revving sound, take two steps back, run in place for a moment then burst forward all while running his motor. This is Liam, pretty much on a daily basis. He is a car.

Unfortunately, this is something I can't capture on camera, but it's something I want to remember. It defines this stage of life for him.

My Precious Niece

I had the pleasure of watching my niece the other day, so I had to get out my camera...

It Seemed Easy Enough

All I wanted was a picture of ALL three kids together, smiling, looking at the camera showing how much they enjoy their picture taken. They don't enjoy it, and it is too much to ask.

It's usually...
one looking away
one in the midst of crying
one making a goofy face, and therefore two looking awayBut, sometimes they actually do cooperate, and they really do love each other. THIS is a keeper, and so are they!

Unexpected Moments

We stopped to have a picnic dinner on our way home from visiting family in Western PA. It was just the side of a grocery store that happened to have a field and a nice hill for the kids to run and play before getting back into the car to continue our journey home. I saw a picture, and Albert challenged me, saying I wasn't going to get it the way I wanted it. Oh, the competitive side came out...
I accomplished EXACTLY what I wanted!

Then little brother, came diving on his sister...that was not in the plan, but I should have anticipated it. If someone is laying on the ground, they are bound to be tackled by this little guy. Although not in the plan, it is exactly what these two look like when they play. I couldn't have planned it any better.

Then there is my little, little girl. She's just chill...

This is exactly how I wanted the picture to be.

The most unlikely of spots to grab pictures of our kids, but what a better way to capture their personality.

Apple pickin'

Every year we take a weekend to go pick apples. It's been a yearly tradition since Audrey was 2, and one I look forward to as the air becomes cooler.

Liam doesn't care too much for apples, but loves applesauce. He was much more excited to be given the task of picking apples and putting them in the bag.

Audrey was a huge help looking for different varieties of apples, and filling her bags quickly.

Pictures

I love photography. I have always enjoyed it, but it wasn't until my husband got into it (and started his side business) that I was able to understand so much more. I don't blog much, but I do take pictures. So, I am going to try to merge the two. I don't know that I'll get a chance to upload pictures and put them on the blog daily, BUT I would like to keep up with my blog and have a place for my pictures. So here I am.

Here's some from today...

Isabel gives the best smiles, and these looks...even at 3 am it's all worth it!

Exciting Changes

Yesterday Albert's official website for his photography went live! We are so excited to start this business, although still truly on the side. He has been enjoying the opportunities he has had to be pushed creatively. I am so proud of him. Check it out!

Thanks, to Infinet Design (Brock and Dave)for your awesome work on the site and to Ned Bustard for your awesome work on the logo. We are so thankful to know and be surrounded by such talented people.

Here's one of my favorites he did last summer overlooking a part of our beautiful city.
