With Audrey, I would make 1 batch of 1 type of food, so the poor girl had to eat sweet potatoes until she was orange, or peas until she was green. This time around I started with the variety. Audrey and I jumped in and made yellow squash, zucchini, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, and apples.
I'm excited for the spring and summer months ahead as we enter into the yummy fresh veggie and fruit seasons. Living in Amish Country, we are so blessed to have so much "homegrown" varieties right at our fingertips, and it's a great way to introduce foods. Although I don't like the "inconveniences" this stage brings (another thing to plan into the day, and pack if we're headed out), I love having the opportunity to play in the kitchen making and freezing all these foods.
Now.....will he be a good eater? So far he's liking his newly introduced oatmeal, we'll see about this other stuff.

Good luck! Such a fun time period...
BTW...loved the planet projects.
i do the same thing for madelyn. i mostly prepare some veggies and then freeze them in ice-cube trays and can pull them out for individual use. it's great. although i'm very anxious for her to start eating more finger foods and move past this season. patience!
i'll see you tonight, if anythings changed, just let me now.
I loved the baby food stage. It was always fun to watch Just Son's face as I fed him something new. Have your camera ready. :-D
