GG and Audrey were playing pretend with Russian dolls...
GG: They are from Russia. Russia is a country very far away.
Audrey: It must be close to Dis.ney Wo.rld.

My grandmother is being moved to an assisted living home. Audrey was talking to her about her move.
Audrey: Why are you sad to move to your new home?
GG: Because I've lived in my home for 21 years.
Audrey: Sometimes people have to move to a new place.
Audrey: It's ok if you have to move, Grammy told me your new house is very pretty.
GG: When you're old like me people tell you what to do, and that's hard after you've made your own decisions for so many years.
Audrey: But they want to take care of you.
GG: I know, dearie. I know.
(This was such a precious conversation between the two of them, I want to remember it.)

Me: What do you want for your birthday?
Audrey: A violin.
Me: You need to learn how to play piano first.
Audrey: But I already do know how to play.
Me: I know, but you need to learn to read notes.
Audrey: But can I play violin if I know how to read notes?
Me: I think it would be easier.
Audrey: Ok, then I'll learn how to play piano.
