Rain, Rain

We had an amazing down pour on Monday afternoon. The kids have been begging for it to rain ever since.

Snow Day

One of those days when we have nothing planned. The kind of days I love.
Isabel isn't crawling, yet, but that doesn't stop her.
Audrey tickling Isabel.

Oh the anticipation...

Thousand Words

Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but there are some things that are not captured in those 1000 words.

Liam, he is a ham. He loves to pretend. I can get pictures of him playing on the floor with his trains, cars, or action figures. That would tell a piece of the story, but not all. He loves to run. Now this is a bit more tricky with photography. How to I capture him running, what it looks like and sounds like it one picture? I can't....yes, I've tried.

I used to be much better about keeping a journal for my kids, I'm horrible at it now. Not because I don't have the time, though that is a factor. Not because I forget or notice, though that too is a factor. It's really because I take so many pictures, and pictures do tell much of a story. Now with digital, they even tell time and date.

Liam has this thing with running. He loves it, he runs everywhere...even in small spaces, around in circles. At night he often has this routine of making an obstacle course for himself involving pillows, stools, chairs, couches, whatever. He then 'starts his motor'. He becomes a car. He'll make a revving sound, take two steps back, run in place for a moment then burst forward all while running his motor. This is Liam, pretty much on a daily basis. He is a car.

Unfortunately, this is something I can't capture on camera, but it's something I want to remember. It defines this stage of life for him.

Molly

Audrey just bought her first American Girl doll, Molly. She has saved her money for several months, just a bit over 6 months, so that she could purchase this girl. I have seen her put money aside, choose not to spend on certain things, but still be giving. It has been a learning process for her, and one she will hopefully never forget. I am extremely proud of her.

She chose Molly, after spending a little bit of time learning about each of the historical characters.

Molly, you were just bought by a very excited little girl. She will be happy to take good care of you. I am sure over time you will not look like this, but you will be well loved, none-the-less.

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Oh, Tuesday, you come and go so quickly. I hardly have time to get my thoughts together. Here are a very few from the last several weeks (months?). Liam is three, and bubbling over with silly things to say.

Liam: I want to be a monkey.
Liam: To be a monkey, you have to hold onto the branch with your hands.

My Precious Niece

I had the pleasure of watching my niece the other day, so I had to get out my camera...
