Holiday festivities

What a wonderful Christmas season. It's hard to believe it's all over, the time went by too quickly. It all started the weekend before Christmas. We celebrated with my mom on Saturday, yummy meal, family laughter,and lots of presents. Mom made these really cool slippers, ours still need to be fitted. Here are Brock and Becca's. Becca's are the finished product, and Brock's are prior to the final wash (although he does have big feet, they aren't THAT big!). Audrey loved her new lady bug costume from her Grammy. She even insisted on wearing it to church the next day, oh well somethings are not worth arguing over! :)Our own family tradition has been to have Christmas breakfast at our house, allowing for our children to open presents that morning and not have to rush off immediately. This year we moved it up to Christmas eve to accommodate schedules. Although we didn't open presents, Audrey got to see her "New Room". After a sleep over at Grammy's, she came back to our house for breakfast, and saw her present from Mommy and Daddy (her single bed was traded for the full bed, decorated with a new butterfly quilt). Christmas morning Audrey woke up later than normal (we thought for sure she'd be up earlier since we told her that she didn't have to wait for the "green 7"). At 7:45 we all headed downstairs in our pj's to enjoy opening all the gifts Audrey so patiently has waited to open. After the clean up we headed out to my Dad's for the remainder of the day. Audrey wanted to help everyone open presents, until getting her tent, then she wanted everyone to join her inside. After all presents were opened she got one more from Pop-pop and Nona....the Plasma Car. We had a great time. We laughed together, Audrey was her silly self, and Liam was enjoying life being held and smiling away.After the presents were opened, Albert and Audrey were ready to go outside and try the plasma car. When the instructions said the car could hold up to 220 lbs Albert felt like the car was for him! My Dad lives on top of a hill, with a 1/4 mile driveway to the road, so the plasma car became a sled with wheels for all weather. Albert and Audrey went down several times, until the sun went down . The rest of the family played games.
To see more pictures (in case you haven't seen enough) from Christmas events go to my hubby's site. The next day we packed up and headed to Bethany Beach, Delaware with our friends Jamie and Amanda. It was great to get away, and have a relaxing couple of days. Audrey got an apron, child-sized rolling pin and cookie decorations from Jamie and Amanda, so we tried it all out. Although she looks as though she passed out from all the sugar, Audrey was trying to eat the cookie without using hands (sure signs of a true sugar induced child). While his big sister was making silly looking sugar cookies, Liam had a great time playing with Daddy. We had a quiet new year's at home, just the four of us, watching Cars. Audrey fell asleep on the couch half way through, a first for her.

2008 resolutions: (Although, I hope to continually improve myself, allowing God to make me the person he wants me to be, not just for the new year.)

-Spiritually - making my "quiet" time daily, even if it is only a few, interrupted minutes. What a difference a day makes when I can have even a few moments to keep my focus, and come before my Heavenly Father.
-Physically - trying to find a workout plan that works (no goals yet, just want something that works). It's tough fitting this in between two kiddos, sleep, house, time with hubby, and work. It is often the first thing that gets crossed off the list if there isn't enough time.
- Financially - one more debt to pay off, we're close!!! I hope to complete this within the first half of the year....this is a tough goal, but one that I believe can be accomplished.
- Emotionally - I want to spend more time on the floor playing, so that I can really enjoy my children, and Motherhood. This is a constant challenge for me.

I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in 2008!
